The purpose of this image is to get viewers to go to Chick-Fil-A. The audience could be Chick-Fil-A lovers, chicken lovers, or anyone who might see this image. For example I have seen this image on billboards while driving on the highway, so in this case the audience is anyone driving on that highway. I believe the rhetorical appeals used is pathos. It connects to viewers emotions by humor. Obviously cows can't spell so with spelling more as "mor" and chicken as "chikin" it adds humor. The mode is visual because viewers are seeing it. The media of this image is digital, because it's an image on a computer screen. However, the image on a billboard is experienced as print media. The design of the cows is a good idea because cows are Chick-Fil-A's mascot. Even if the logo wasn't at the bottom most people would be able to tell its a Chick-fil-a ad. The style of the misspelled words and messy handwriting makes it funny because they made it look like the cows wrote the signs. This photo could be adapted to a photo essay by writing about Chick-fil-a and how this company is different from most.
